PASTEGUARD · WD DIGI

Privacy policy

PasteGuard processes text on your device. WD DIGI does not receive the input, alias mapping, or replies you review.

Effective 4 October 2026. Publisher: WD DIGI. Contact: support@wddigi.com.

Text you choose to review

The extension handles text you paste or explicitly import from a webpage selection, suggested matches, custom literal rules, original values and their aliases, masked text, and replies you paste for restoration. This text can contain personal information, financial information, authentication tokens, or private communications, depending on what you enter. No browsing history, source URL, cookies, page scanning, or background clipboard reads are collected.

Memory session

Inputs, outputs, temporary rules, and alias mappings are kept in chrome.storage.session and extension-view memory. Chrome session storage is cleared when the browser restarts or the extension is reloaded, updated, or disabled. Closing a panel preserves the scanned session. Unscanned draft edits are held only in that view. Clear session deletes the stored session and starts a new alias namespace. Data is available to trusted extension contexts, not webpage scripts or content scripts.

Optional local settings and profiles

Appearance and detector preferences are saved in chrome.storage.local. When saving a profile, custom rules are excluded by default. You can explicitly select “Also save these custom rules on this device”; that stores the literal text until you delete the profile, delete all saved data, or uninstall. Saved profiles are not synced. The extension does not add application-level encryption to memory or saved profiles.

Copying and sharing

PasteGuard writes text to the clipboard only when you use a copy button after reviewing the output. It does not read the clipboard automatically, submit prompts, paste into another service, or intercept requests. Copies already on the clipboard and material you share with another service are outside the memory session. Clear session does not erase those copies. A restored reply contains original details; review it before sharing.

No server processing or tracking

The extension does not transmit text or mappings to WD DIGI or another service. It includes no analytics, advertising, telemetry, remote AI processing, or executable remote code. Handled data is not sold, used for advertising, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to the stated text-review features. Data use is limited to those features under the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements.

Your controls

Use Clear session to remove the active memory session. Settings lets you delete saved profiles or delete all PasteGuard data, including settings and the session. Clearing aliases prevents restoration of replies that still use them. Removing the extension removes its local storage. Clipboard copies, downloaded material, and content in other services need to be managed separately.

Website and support

The public website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes connection metadata such as IP addresses and requests to deliver and protect the site. The site uses no custom analytics, advertising scripts, or application cookies. Website requests are separate from normal extension use.

If you email support@wddigi.com, WD DIGI and its mail provider process the address, message, and attachments to answer you. Send a synthetic sample instead of sensitive text. Support correspondence is kept for handling the request; you can ask for deletion by email.

Future changes

This policy describes the free beta. Any future billing, sync, or server feature will describe its data handling before it is offered.
